TASK 10

Yes. There are many things that I have learn while doing this task. I got so many information based on my researching on the task given. Other than help me to improve on my understanding on how to use a proper grammar in my task, it also makes me to read carefully and give full attention to what I have read. So that I could get an exactly information for my task. While I am trying to complete this task, I have some difficulties that I could barely avoid. For examples I do not have broadband. This is hard for me to find information because in my hostel, I am the only person who didn't owned one.

TASK 9 ( The Oak Island Treasure )

§ Location of Survivor Island, Pulau Tiga

ü  Kuala Penyu, Sabah

ü  10km of the shore on the West Coast of Sabah

ü  48km south of Kota Kinabalu and Tunku Abdul Rahman, Pulau Tiga National Park is reached by driving the 140km to Kuala Penyu, a small settlement on the tips the Klias Peninsula.

§  How to get to Pulau Tiga ?

ü  Take a bus from Segama overhead Bridge and a one way-trip will cost you approximately RM18

ü  A taxi ride from the taxi stand next to Merdeka Field should cost RM180 per way.

ü  Need to take a speedboat to the island, approximately about 30minutes.

TASK 8 ( Mr. Bean in Action )

·         Receptionist : Good afternoon, Shangri-La Hotel Resort. May I     help you ?

·         Me : yes please. I’d like to book room. I am Jarinah.

·         Receptionist : Certainly. When for, Miss Jarinah?

·         Me : On 7^th May.

·         Receptionist : Can I know what type of room you want , Miss ?

·         Me : I want Deluxe Sea View. Make sure the room are right in front of the nice and clear view of the calm beach. The room rate is about 36sqm / 388sqm.

·         Receptionist : May I know how long Miss will stayed ?

·         Me : 3days and 2nights please.

·         Receptionist : Everything has been arrange. Is there anything that Miss Jarinah wants to add to?

·         Me : oh yeah, I am having my birthday party there. So if you don’t mind, can I ask for a hall to celebrate it and there are about 100 people will attend the party. I also need a catering food, and the requirement to boost up the party such as the speaker and the music. I will pay all the bills by cheque at the end of the day I stayed there.

·         Receptionist : Ok Miss. Is there anything else?

·         Me : Nothing more. That’s all.

·         Receptionist : All has been arrange like you have asked, Miss Jarinah. Thank you for choosing Shangri-La hotel resort.

·         Me : Your welcome.

TASK 7 ( Where is Love ? )

§  Nowadays, racism is rising across the world. This matter is really one of serious matter that always been rise and talking about by anyone and also in the cabinet. Racism is not good. It separates us from our neighbours. Community nowadays becomes diverse and split apart and rather go grouping together by their fellow races. Other than that, our sovereignty will be threatened. People outside there will take for granted when our unity unstable. Not only that, it is hard to develop in all sectors. If this happen our country’s economy will bring the country down. All sectors (economy, social, and politics) will be affected when the togetherness and understanding are no more because people can’t cooperate each other. Furthermore, country security will be threatened as well. When people outside take for granted, indirectly we will live a life that full with fear. So, based on all of these effects, I am very sure that every single of you don’t want to make all of these become a reality. People in our country will also have the effect. We don’t want to make history repeat right? 13^th May 1969 is the most horrible tragedy that happens in our country because of racism. Many people die, loss of properties and misunderstanding between all the races. To overcome this issue firstly, respect others race. Don’t talk or rise something about others races. This issue is very sensitive issues. Then, parents should encourage their child to make friends with other races. Don’t be shy to learn about other cultures or races. Think wisely about what we are going to say about others races. Some people do fit stereotype, but majority of people are different.

TASK 6 ( Crazy Commercials )

§  Yes, we do live in unity as 1MALAYSIA. In Sabah whether we realise or not, we already live in it before 1Malaysia’s concept been introduced by our prime minister. Obviously, people in Sabah live under the same roof. As I can see, community in Sabah are all friendly. For example, when harvest festival was held at Hongkod Koisaan , KDCA(KadazanDusun Culture Association), there were many races, culture and colours. Aren’t they beautiful? Yes it is. It is beautiful and looks unique. Many people with different background work respectfully together to make the festival fun and meaningful. Isn’t it amazing? People from different race, culture or even religion can go to the festival and they can actually know the details about KadazanDusun’s culture and other races in Sabah. Usually the person who is in charge will put a lot of information about it. Furthermore, we also can see it through marriage. Nowadays, many people or family are mix. Meanings that, many were born as Sino, Kadazan mixed with Chinese and so on.

TASK 5 ( The Corpse Bride )

§      In life, everyone has their own dreams or goals. I also have a dream like everybody else. My dreams are, I want to be a professional finger-style guitarist and a successful physiotherapist. Its sounds crazy a little bit. But, I do want to be like what I have told just now. That’s my dream that I want to achieve in my life. I want to help people who are paralysed and give them advice and motivational so that they can accept the fact about it and support them to not giving up with their life. To achieve this goal, I will try my very best and give full attention and my commitment in my study. Instead of being physiotherapist, I would like to be just like my idol, Sungha Jung. He is very good in playing guitar. To be just like him, I am going to buy one acoustic guitar and practice on the chord and learn how to read a tab. I am going to put an effort on what I have dreamt for.

TASK 4 ( Unstoppable )

§     The Pursuit Life of Happyness is a biographical drama film based on a true story of Chris Gardner’s nearly one-year struggle with homelessness. Will Smith as Gardner and Jaden Smith as Gardner’s son, Christopher Jr. This film is about Chris Gardner and his son who were homeless. Chris tries to afford their lives with sell the portable bone-scanners which he tries to demonstrate and sell to doctors. The investment proves to be a white elephant but suddenly, financially breaks their family. Chris’s girlfriend leaves him and moves to New York. Christopher remains with his father. But his meeting with Dean Witter manager earns him to become an intern stockbroker. Chris and his son are evicted due to incapable paying the income taxes. Then, they stay in Glide Memorial United Methodist Church for a homeless shelter. Starting from there, Chris tries to change their lives. Regardless of his challenges, Chris never reveals his lowly circumstances to his co-workers. Concluding his internship, Chris is called into a meeting with his managers and been paid for his works and been offered the position. As for me, this kind of life is totally hard and I can’t even imagine how to be in Chris Gardner’s place. But still I want to say that, if I were in his place I will try my best to change my life to a better life. Try not to give up even it is harder and make me feel so down. I will never ever show to others that I am weak. It only makes others think I want to attract their attention by showing that I can’t go through my life. I will take every chance and challenges in my life, put a lot of effort on what I am doing and I am sure that all my effort will be paid after all the pain, hard moments, failure and challenges that comes to me. 

TASK 3 ( Language within a rhythm )

§  The song that I like the most and for sure I never get bored to hear this song over and over again. The song is “Your Guardian Angel “by The Red Jumpsuit. I don’t know why but it totally hypnotise me each time I listen to this song.  Not only that, it attract my attention. Not just because of the melody but the lyrics as well. It is really meaningful and absolutely good. Sometimes this song was actually suitable for me. It describes me well. I want someone that I love stand by my side and never ever will going to leave me. I want our relationship last forever. I don’t mind what will happen to me but I am ready to take all the consequences and face what stand in front of me. I want to be the only one for the one that I love and I want the person knows that I can be the one. I will protect and defend our love. It remains to be my favourite song because it is always remind me that we must appreciate our love.

TASK 2 ( The Magic Forest )

     Sungha Jung is my idol. He is only 16 years old this year. He was born on 2 September 1996. He is cute and handsome though. Not only that, he is taller of course and have a fairer skin colour. He has black straight hair and adorable face. He is so not like other young guitarist that I ever known. He is the youngest professional acoustic finger-style guitarist ever and I am as impressed about his carrier as a guitarist. He can play any song perfectly and completely. He is kind and seems to be a quiet person. He did not talk a lot. He will practice on how to play one song and typically takes only 3 days and 1 week for the hard ones. After that, he will upload his videos in YouTube and he got a millions viewers. Sungha Jung also won many awards and releases his own albums which are “Perfect Blue “, “Irony “and many more. That’s what I called a boy who was born gifted. I adore this boy very much and I also try to be like him even its hard but it’s not impossible for anyone to be just like him. I just need to work little things out like practicing, patience and put some effort on it. He is quite shy, calm and very serious in doing his work. When he played one song, he will play it with all of his heart. One day, I hope I can play as well as he does. So that I can play a song for everyone and of course for the one I love.

TASK 1 ( A picture paints a thousand words )

§     The difficulties that I have in speaking English are I don’t know how to use an adverb, prepositions, and noun, adjective and so on very well. Besides, there are some hard words that I don’t know the meaning of that word. That is why sometimes I feel bad when people who are good in English talk with me and they using the words that I don’t even know what exactly the meaning is and it is hard for me to reply them. Not only that, some words also are difficult to pronounce. That is why, I will feel shy to speak in English because I am afraid if I say it wrong and people or my friends will laugh at me. But, I will not stay quiet and do nothing. To improve my English proficiency, I do a lot of reading, singing, and watch movies that all in English language. Other than that, I will find the meaning of the words that I don’t understand in the dictionary or maybe I’ll ask from my friend. I will ask to my lecturer or my friend who are good in English on how to pronounce the difficult word. Moreover, I will speak English more with my friends and learn from them.
